What does paying your contractors actually cost?
Put in your numbers. The result shows on the page, with the formula. Deel's figures are dated and sourced; the FX line is an estimate because Deel doesn't publish one.

How this is worked out
Money moved= contractors × average monthly pay × 12.
The other platform= contractors × seat fee × 12 + money moved × funding rate + payments × fixed funding fee + money moved × share paid across currencies × FX estimate. Payments = 12, one funding payment a month.
Handl = contractors × $5× 12 + money moved × share paid across currencies × transfer fee rate. Handl funds nothing, because the money leaves your own balance.
Worked example with the Example numbers, bank funded: 5 × $49× 12 = $2,940, plus $5× 12 = $60, plus $180,000 × 1% = $1,800, so $4,800. Handl: 5 × $5× 12 = $300, plus $180,000 × 0.5% = $900, so $1,200.
Where the figures come from. Deel starts at $49 per contractor per month (deel.com/pricing, 26 Oct 2026). Funding fees: Deel Help Centre, Supported Payment Methods and Currencies for Client Account Funding, updated 28 Apr 2026, checked 26 Oct 2026. Cards: 2.9% + $0.30 on US or EU cards, 3.9% + $0.30 on all others. Wire, ACH, SEPA, BACS: US$5. BECS (AUD): A$10. PAD (CAD): C$10. Wise from 0.19% per transfer (wise.com/au/pricing/business, 26 Oct 2026).
Deel FX is an estimate: 0.6% to 2%, estimate, Deel doesn't publish a rate. We use 1% by default and you can change it. It can be avoided entirely by funding Deel in the invoice currency.
Cards from outside the US, UK and EU are settled in USD by Deel, so your card issuer adds its own foreign transaction fee on top. That is your bank’s fee, not Deel’s, and it isn’t in this total. If you use the card for the float, Handl has no equivalent: this saving is for agencies that can pay from cash. Amounts stay in the currency you pick and nothing is converted; Deel’s published fees are in US dollars and are applied to the number as entered.
Where Handl comes in
Handl drafts each statement from the hours you've already approved and pays from your own Wise or Airwallex balance.
Prefer a spreadsheet?
Put the terms on one page and send it to your contractors before the next statement. The free template is a Word file, fill in the brackets.
See it on your own projects.
Handl turns logged hours and costs into invoices and a live margin, so you are not rebuilding this in a spreadsheet every time.
Not accounting advice. This is an estimate worked out from the numbers you type in, nothing more.
